Flexing Gains: How This Bodybuilder Went from Lifting Weights to Lifting His Crypto Portfolio šŸ‹ļøšŸ’°

Samuel is a university student, crypto trader, and gym bro. His first experience with crypto was rough, he had no mentor, no real understanding of the market, and his first real attempt at trading ended in disaster. He watched his balance drop before his eyes, lost money, and even had his phone crash in the middle of a trade. But instead of quitting, he kept learning.Ā

Like in the gym, he learned that consistency, discipline, and patience pay off. Now, this student trader isn’t just building muscle; he’s stacking crypto gains too. From losing $40 in his early days to running his own airdrop research group, Samuel’s journey is proof that whether it’s in fitness or finance, gains don’t come easy, but they do come.

Thank you for joining us as a guest on this episode of Bitcoin Stories with Quidax. Please, introduce yourself and tell us about your crypto story

Samuel: My name Samuel and I am a student at Ekiti State University. I mostly do crypto airdrops alongside spot and futures trading. Basically, if there’s money to be made, I’m already there.

A student AND a trader? How do you juggle that?

Samuel: It’s not easy, oh! I started crypto in 2021, but I didn’t really see any money from it until last year, 2024. Back then, I was doing all these bounty airdrops, test nets… just grinding, hoping for a big win. So, I had to structure my day. I’d wake up early, do my school work, then focus on my trading and airdrops. It was a routine.

Wait, so you were trading for three years without making any money?

Samuel: (Laughs) Yes oh! But it was because I didn’t really have anyone to guide me, so I was just figuring things out by myself. The first real money I made, I lost $40 almost immediately because I didn’t understand limit orders. I was just watching my balance go down, helplessly. That thing pain me.

Omo. $40 might not sound like much, but to a student, that’s like a week’s worth of food.

Samuel: Exactly! I was just staring at the screen like, ā€œSo this is how people lose money in crypto?ā€ And it didn’t stop there. There was a time I put $50 into a coin at night. By the next morning, my phone had spoiled, and by the time I fixed it, my money had dropped to $3. That one nearly made me cry.

Ah, heartbreak. So what changed? How did you go from losing money to actually making profits?

Samuel: Two things: YouTube and Quidax. After that first loss, I started watching videos, trying to figure things out. Then, I found Quidax’s community on WhatsApp, where people were always sharing insights. I learned how to research, spot airdrops, and actually trade without donating my money to the market.

That’s cool. So, what do your family and friends think about crypto?Ā

Samuel: Ah, my mum thought it was a waste of time at first. But recently, I showed her my wallet balance, and she was like, ā€œEhn? This thing is real?ā€ The next day, my balance dropped (laughs), and I had to explain that crypto moves up and down. But at least now, she understands.

Interesting. Guess you’ve converted someone. So, when you are not trading or in class, what do you do for fun?Ā

Samuel: I’m into fitness. I enjoy working out and I aspire to be a body builder too.

Oooh Fit Bro, we see you! Do you think there are similarities between bodybuilding and crypto trading?

Samuel: Oh, 100%! See, when you start lifting weights, you don’t see results on day one. You have to show up daily, lift consistently, and trust the process. It’s the same with trading. Some people think they’ll buy crypto today and become millionaires tomorrow. It doesn’t work like that.

Let’s talk trading. What are your top coins to trade, and are there any coins you completely avoid?

Samuel: I trade mostly altcoins like SUI, Polygon, and USDT. But I don’t touch Bitcoin or Ethereum.

Huh? No BTC? No ETH? Why?

Samuel: Bitcoin’s liquidity is crazy, it’s for people with big money. As for Ethereum, that one’s gas fees are just too much for me.

Fair enough. So tell me, now that you’re making profits, what’s the best thing you’ve bought for yourself?

Samuel: Ah, nothing crazy. I got myself a new gym outfit, some sneakers, and a gaming headset. I’m not one to splurge, I’d rather buy crypto and hold.

No luxury flex? No “I made it” purchases?

Samuel: (Laughs) Not yet! Maybe one day when my portfolio is bench-pressing six figures.

Smart move. Now, imagine I drop $10,000 on the table right now and tell you to invest it in crypto. What’s your plan?

Samuel: I wouldn’t do futures trading—I’d buy and hold. I’d split it between Ripple’s XRP and Polygon. Maybe $6K on Polygon and $4K on XRP.

So no risky, high-leverage plays?

Samuel: Ah! I’ve suffered in this life, please. I’ll stick to safe plays.

(Laughs) I respect that. Are you part of any Quidax communities?

Samuel: Yeah, I’m in all the groups on Telegram and Whatsapp.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Samuel: I’m a computer science student right now and I look forward to owning my own exchange or launching my own token.

So, we should not expect ā€œSamuel the Trader, Mr. Olympiaā€ in a few years?

Samuel: (Laughs) Who knows?

Alright, Samuel, thanks for chatting with us. Any final words for Quidax?

Samuel: Just keep listing good coins! Also, add $SUI to the platform. (Laughs)

Oh we just did on Wednesday, February 13 actually.Ā  šŸ˜‰Ā

Samuel: Ouuu this is why I love you guys!

Samuel’s journey is proof that patience, learning, and persistence pay off in the crypto world. He started off losing money, but through research and experience. Now he approaches everything with a game plan—and Quidax is part of that plan. And if you’re still sitting on the sidelines, thinking about getting into crypto? His advice is simple:

  • Start small.
  • Stay consistent.
  • Join a community.
  • Don’t chase quick gains.

Because in the end, whether it’s fitness or finance, real gains take time. šŸš€. Samuel’s story is just one of many, and we know YOU have your own story to tell! Maybe you made your first profit after months of trial and error, or you accidentally lost money on a meme coin (don’t worry, we’ve all been there). Whatever it is, we want to hear it šŸ‘‚!Ā
